My Angel Workshops
Creating something to be proud of is not as challenging as it seems.
Using my moulds which already have beautiful faces,
the process of adding elements to the base is uncomplicated and very rewarding.
Where magic happens
Appreciation for creation
Exploration in creativity
There is a potters wheel here upon which anyone is welcome to have a go.
But I do not offer throwing lessons .
Pinch pots are an ancient technique and can be the basis for many sculptural forms
The facilities here offer a variety of ways to create something to treasure or as a special gift for a loved one.
The Angel workshops are a great way to relax and enjoy quality time with family or special friends.
'We don't just make art we make memories.'
This is another ancient technique using ropes of clay wound around and pinched together to form the walls of the vessel.
We have a slab roller on site which really takes the strain out of making slabs.
it's not just about how, but when.
Using my special moulds gives a head start to what would be a two-day process.
The day before the workshop I fill the moulds and make the backgrounds.
On the day of the workshop, the two elements are brought together and the details in the face
get more definition. Eyes open or closed is a choice.
The next step is to introduce more clay as design features, usually, a theme is chosen in advance.
As the day progresses and more confidence is drawn from the depths of your being,
the piece takes on a quality of it's own.
By the tea break the pieces will be referred to as 'she' or 'he' and affection is clearly seen.
"I attended an Angel-making Sculpture day in Oct 2018 at the studio with a friend. It was a very successful and fab day. Lucinda is a great teacher, she was warm and welcoming, we had a happy time, she provided a light lunch. I collected my Kiln-Fired Sculpture 2 weeks later and finished it with Acrylic paints at Lucinda's suggestion. I am very pleased with the result, and highly recommend the experience."
"Thanks, Lucinda for a fantastic time Its the best birthday present Jackie has ever given me Its been so instructive and so much fun I can highly recommend one of these art courses as a present or treat yourself Tim"
"Spent a fantastic day with great friends at one of Lucinda’s workshops. The lunch included was delicious and Lucinda was amazing. We are all thrilled with our pieces and can’t recommend having a day here enough. It was so nice to do something completely different and have something special to show for it at the end of it. Thank you so much, Lucinda. 💐⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"If you've always wanted to try clay but never had the courage, opportunity or confidence or if you are arty and have just never tried clay, Lucinda's Garden Angel Workshop is definitely for you. She is an excellent tutor, encouraging you to take your Garden Angel the way you want to and helping the art flow if you get stuck. Even the least creative of us can produce a masterpiece under her guidance. Set in the calming and beautiful Claydon House Estate the surroundings couldn't be better. You absolutely won't be disappointed. Worth every penny and you get a beautiful Garden Angel to take home with you after it has been fired and glazed...any excuse to return (when you collect it). Please visit Lucinda's webpage and have a look. Thank you Lucinda, an absolutely perfect day, delicious lunch and great company."
